What should the brace height be set at and where is it measured for my Predator Bow?
Predator measures the brace height from the deepest part of the grip (throat) back to the draw string. For Hunter DX and Custom (wood riser) models the brace ht. should be set 7 1/4" - 7 3/4", for the Velocity set from 6 3/4" - 7 1/4", Lobo and Phoenix longbows 7 1/4" - 7 3/4". These settings are based on a hard string such as D97, FF, exc. and is for optimal performance from your Predator Bow.
How light or heavy of an arrow can I shoot from my Predator Bow?
It is not recommended to fall below 8 grains of arrow weight for each pound of the bows draw weight. (example: 50# bow = 400 grain total arrow weight minimum) There is no maximum arrow weight.
How do I determine the age of my Predator Bow?
The serial number of the riser, limbs, or longbow is the date your bow was built. (example ser.# 052514-1 was built on May 25th 2014 05/25/14) The number after the "-" is for production and has no significance to the date.
My bow was built prior to 1996; can I get replacement limbs?
Predator Take-down recurves built prior to 1996 are not of the P.L.F. interchangeable design of today and the components are not compatible. Unfortunately we no longer have the capability to produce limbs or risers for those prior models.
